In DreamWorks Lenard Giller presents his latest film. Shot at night in Rome, the work captures the reflections emitted by a monumental electronic billboard onto the surface of the river Tiber. By appropriating the looped structure of the advertisements, the film displays an abstract facsimile of its digital counterpart and constructs a hypnotic stage in which time appears indefinite.

The sequence of moving images is accompanied by an excerpt taken from Presenturized Presenturo (a loop-chain audio piece produced by VIPRA on the occasion of the exhibition Time is Thirsty [2019] at Kunsthalle Wien).

The choice not to impose a fixed duration onto DreamWorks is deliberate; its length is left to the attention and perceptions of the spectator; just like the billboard and the river, at Petrine the advertised loop unfolds indifferent to its audience.
